Our lipsticks are going to be wearing all black!!! We are currently transitioning from our white plastic tubes to all-black ones. Please note: the stygian transformation is only half-way completed, so orders may be traditional white and/or black depending on inventory.

R&D with Cousin Erin!!
My cousin Erin visited me last month and helped me work on developing an alternate lipstick base so our vegan customers can enjoy our full range of cosmetics. The base isn’t perfect yet, but we are close!!! Thanks to Erin for being so much help (and such a great model, too!!!) She is wearing one of the prototypes in this photo.
Lipstick for a Red Planet
In honor of the landing of Curiosity on Mars yesterday, we here at PBLC are only wearing Martian lip colors today!! Mars is red because of the high quantities of red iron oxide found on its surface–the very stuff that Undead Red, Blood Red and This Corrosion lip colors are made up of!!! In fact, another name for red iron oxide is ‘Mars Red.’ For those of you who prefer a darker shade, black iron oxide is also called ‘Mars Black,’ so you can wear your black lipstick today and still be totally Martian!!

Now, Good Morning Angel has followed up with a lovely collection of photos of some of our darker lip colors. If you have ever wanted to see what Black Lagoon, Indigo Bridge or Artificial Amethyst look like up close, then this post is for you: http://www.goodmorningangel.blogspot.co.uk/2012/03/portland-black-lipstick-co-swatches.html
